Last July 26, together with the rest of the C-Lium ambassadors, we had a series of medical tests for our initial check-up. This is to check our Body Mass Index (BMI), Cholesterol Screening, Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), Treadmill Stress Test and Body Circumference Measurements.
Then last September 7, we took another medical test for our final results.
Look at that! I maintained my Glucose level, a significant difference in my total cholesterol, HDL and LDL while there is an increase in the Triglycerides and VLDL. Essentially, I still fall within the normal range!
Recalling how to explain cholesterol test results (from Livestrong.com, Cholesterol Test Results Explained), I have to check on Triglycerides and VLDL as they went up.
“Triglycerides are the most abundant form of fat in the diet. Blood triglyceride levels can be elevated by a high fat diet.
While according to Dr. Thomas Behrenbeck in the Mayo Clinic site:
“Of the lipoprotein types, VLDL contains the highest amount of triglyceride. Because it contains a high level of triglyceride, having a high VLDL level means you may have an increased risk of coronary artery disease, which can lead to a heart attack or stroke. Higher amounts and large VLDL particles are also associated with an increased risk of high blood pressure and stroke.”
So that explains the high triglyceride. I am still within normal range but I was alarmed on the risks of a high VLDL. Therefore, I should not stop monitoring what I eat and continue with the diet as recommended by our nutritionists.
Our journey with C-Lium will soon come to an end but that should not stop us from leading a healthy and active lifestyle. Join us on September 20 as we will be presenting our journey with C-Lium at the Medicard Lifestyle Center at Buendia, Makati City. We hope to see you there! Together with Pinoy Biggest Loser Season 1 finalists Art Mendoza and Angela Lupango, our nutritionist Nadine Tengco and our friends from Medicard.
C-lium promotes a healthy digestive system by eliminating constipation, promoting regular bowel movement, and assisting in waste and toxin removal. C-lium acts as a sponge in the intestinal tract, swelling as it absorbs water, fats, and waste material in bowels. This forms a soft, bulky mass that passes through the colon more quickly (keeping potentialy toxic waste from staying in the colon, as well as evacuating these more smoothly and easily).
