Toughing It Out in the Men’s Health Philippines Urbanathlon in Nuvali!

I don’t know why I didn’t post a post-race review last year (though I vaguely remember that I saw any picture of me doing it so maybe that’s why) but this is the 4th time I joined half-marathon in Men’s Health Philippines Urbanathlon this time around, in Nuvali! I started back in 2010 when I really fear getting injured while doing the obstacles so I only did 5k, after that, the obstacles didn’t stop me even if it was a half-marathon distance!

As they dubbed to be the hardest Urbanathlon yet especially a change of venue, with more obstacles and with trails, I anticipated it to be really hard sans the rolling hills and uphells of Nuvali!

At around 4:30 am, I was already preparing my things in the car. I always thought it’s madness doing half-mary WITH obstacles especially it’s Urbanathlon; and then you added the trails, let’s see! So I wore my Mizuno Wave Ascend 8 just to prepare for the trails, the traction helped me a lot in my Batulao climb, let’s see with the flat trails and slippery mud tracks. Got my sister’s iPod ready for loop in case I needed that push while I zone out.
